Easter

I started out my Easter festivities with a super fun egg hunt at my neighborhood park. I live in the best neighborhood and there are so many fun kids to play with!

As you can see, I love Easter eggs! I've been playing with them all week.

I spent the weekend mastering climbing stairs. I don't know how to go down them yet (except face first) but I'm getting so good at going up!
On Saturday I got to go to my little cousin's birthday party. She is a few months older than me and I had so much fun playing with her at her party!
On Sunday the Easter Bunny left me a big basket full of fun things. My favorite thing that I got was a wind up frog for bath time. I really like frogs!
Me and my cousins went over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for another Easter egg hunt and a yummy dinner.
Check out all the eggs that Daddy helped me find:
I had the best first Easter ever and I can't wait until next year to do it all over again!!

Happy March!

We have been having some camera issues, so please forgive us for not posting earlier!

March has been a very fun month, besides being sick of course. On St. Patrick's Day Eve, a leprachaun came through our neighborhood and hid clues and gifts for all of the kids. Mommy pushed me in the stroller since I can't walk on my own.....yet.
Speaking of going walks in my stroller, since it has been such good weather lately, Mommy has taken me on lots of walks. It's nice to get out of the house and breath some fresh air!

Speaking of fresh air, it sure is getting to be golf season. I know that I'm too young to golf, but at least I can dress like a golfer right?

Other things that I have done lately are:

  • Saw the movie "The Lorax" with our friends Rosie, Isaiah, and Addison - I liked it!

  • Saw the movie "The Hunger Games" - I didn't really get to watch it because I just wanted to play.

  • I love to eat. I really like fruit and there are some vegetables I like. I do not like carrots though. I also really like crackers.

  • I love to clap and play patty-cake. Sometimes if you ask me to clap, I'll do it (if I'm in the mood).

  • I am also learning how to wave. While I was watching General Conference this morning, I saw the choir conductor waving his arms, so I waved back!

  • I have also started to climb stairs. Once I get to the top, I head straight to Mommy and Daddy's bath tub to turn on the water. I like to watch the waterfall.

March sure was a fun month - I can't wait to see what happens in April!

Almost 8 months

In just a few more days, I'll be 8 months old. Grandma and Pompa can't believe how fast I'm growing - and I'm getting more and more of a personality each day!

I love bath time. I have 3 little frogs that I play with while Mommy washes me. Then Daddy dries me off in my froggy towel (see below). Mommy just bought a bunch of new decorations for my bathroom, so when she gets it decorated, we'll have to take some pictures!

I also know how to pull myself up. This is how Mommy finds me every morning and after my afternoon nap. Sometimes I'll even clap for her when she comes in.

2 weeks ago I got sick with a cold, just a couple days after riding the carousel (we think that was the culprit). Just to make sure it wasn't anything worse, Mommy and Daddy took me to the doctor. The doctor listened to my chest and said there shouldn't be anything to worry about, but to keep me hydrated. I got to start drinking apple juice - I love it! Just a few days after I got sick, Mommy got sick too! Here is a picture of the sick ones in bed:

But then a few days after Mommy got sick, Daddy got sick too, and he never gets sick! So, needless to say, we spent the weekend being sick together. Daddy laid on the floor while Mommy was on the couch, and I climbed all over them. I also watched my first musical - HAIRSPRAY. I hope my friend Brink (who I haven't met yet), wakes up every day and says, "Good Morning, Baltimore"! Thankfully everyone is almost all better - YAY!

My Special Angel

Two years ago, I lived in heaven. I was waiting for my turn to come to Earth. But something special happened two years ago from tomorrow. A beautiful angel came and found me and told me that my Mommy and Daddy were waiting for me on Earth - and they had been waiting a long time. She told me that they weren't able to have me naturally, and that I would have to find another special way to get to them. She told me that I needed to find a very special person, one who would consider placing me for adoption. She would help take care of the rest.

I got to spend a lot of time with that special angel, because we had to wait for Mommy and Daddy to get approved for adoption. The month after they were approved, I found a very special person who I knew would help me get to them. I'm very grateful that Miss Amanda was able to feel the promptings that this angel was sending to her.

I miss my special angel, but I'm pretty sure I saw her in the temple when I got sealed to Mommy and Daddy. I remembered to smile for her - she was always smiling for me.

We love and miss you!

Super Speed

So I keep getting told that I'm growing up way too fast. I think it might be due to the fact that I am super speedy - I can crawl so fast that Mommy and Daddy almost have to run to catch me! Okay, so I'm exaggerating a little bit, but if I can make a break for it, I seize the opportunity :)

Mommy bought me some new clothes the other day, so here I am modeling my new outfit.
The true purpose of going to the store was not the clothes though. Mommy bought this gate so I can't get too far away too fast. Somehow, it feels like I am at the zoo. Does anyone want to come visit me?
Tonight, we went to Planet Play to celebrate my cousin's 3rd true birthday (he was born on leap day). It was very fun to watch all of the kids and the lights. I even got to ride the Carousel!

Ramblings of a 7-month old

It is official - I am now 7 months old! I got to celebrate my first Valentine's Day. I went to the store with Daddy and bought a card, movie and candy for Mommy for Valentine's. Mommy made some yummy sugar cookies to give to Daddy:
Each of these cookies has something that relates to Daddy's favorite TV shows. Mommy had been working on this list for a long time! Then Mommy helped me make this card for Daddy:

We went to Daddy's work to surprise him with the cookies and the card. He was very surprised and was very happy to see us!

So there have been a lot of things that have happened over the past few weeks, but I finally have pictures to prove it. Some of my most favorite things to do right now are:

1 - eat more solid foods. I love fruits and vegetables, and with my new teeth, I also like Yogurt Bites!

2 - crawling! I am crawling all over the place. I especially like to go faster when I see Lilly - she can still outrun me though.

3- explore. Mommy put all of my toys in these bins under the TV, so I love to pull them out and find new toys!

4 - play! I have so many fun toys to play with. This toy is one of my favorites right now. It plays songs, teaches me to say numbers and colors, and also teaches me Spanish!

5 - play with friends! Each week I get together with 5 friends from the neighborhood. We range from 7 months to 1 year old. I sure do have fun!

Say CHEESE!

A few weeks ago, I got my pictures taken for my Sealing & Blessing announcements. I figured it was time to share those pictures with you. Say Cheese!

Here is our new family picture:

The photographer said I was so photogenic, that he got so many pictures of me, so he decided to take a picture of Mommy and Daddy too:

I sure had fun getting my pictures taken. When do I get to do it again?

Signed, SEALED, Delivered - I'M YOURS!

This last weekend was super special! I got to go to the temple and be sealed to my Mommy and Daddy forever. We got dressed up in white and were surrounded by so many family and friends. Daddy also knew that Grandma was there (she helped me find my way to my family in heaven). I know that it was super special because when I came into the room, Mommy and Daddy started crying. Here are some pictures of us at my temple:

Then on Sunday, I got to be blessed at church. It was such a good day because Miss Amanda and her family came to see me.
It sure was a great weekend, and I'm thankful for everyone who was able to come and see me for these special days.

Finally Finalized!

Friday morning was a very special day - it was the day that my adoption was finalized! Mommy and Daddy had to wake me up and get me ready to get to the courthouse on time. Once we got there, we met up with Grandpa and Grandma Sherry, and Grandma and Pompa. We went in to the courtroom to meet with Judge John Paul Kennedy. First, the lawyer asked the case worker some questions, like if Mommy and Daddy were good parents. Then Daddy had to answer some questions, like what is his birthdate, and Mommy's birthdate, and when they got married. It's a good thing he knew all those dates! Then the lawyer asked Mommy if what Daddy said was true - she got the easy questions! After that, the judge had read everything and liked all the answers so he said that the adoption was finalized.

It definitely was nice for that step to be completed, because the next step will be extra special. I get to be sealed to my Mommy and Daddy next Saturday - then we will be a forever family! YAY!

6 Months Already!

Can you believe it? I am getting so old! I saw Dr. Z today for my 6 month check up and he was so surprised that I can sit all by myself and that I am almost crawling. He said that must mean that I'm really smart. He also said that I could now eat ice cream if I want to... I can't wait to tell Pompa this. He secretly keeps feeding it to me and then when Mommy finds out she gets mad at my Pompa. Dr. Z gave Mommy some medicine for my face... it's always so itchy so hopefully this will make me all better! The cute nurse weighed and measured me and these are my new stats:

Weight: 17.5 lbs - 50th percentile
Length: 26 inches - 25th percentile
Head: 17 inches - 45th percentile

I don't know what those numbers mean, but I think it must mean that I'm growing SO big! In November, Mommy and Daddy took me to get my picture taken and they just realized that they never shared any of my fun pictures. I was just a little guy back then, but here they are:
I'm so excited for next Friday - we get to go downtown to the courthouse and my adoption will be finalized. I can't wait to share those pictures with you next week!!!

Happy New Year!

First of all, a big congratulations to my cousin, Tyler, and his new wife, Camille. We are so happy for you! It was such an amazing day, and such a sweet ceremony (talking about adoption and angels from beyond).
Last week was so awesome. Daddy got to take the whole week off of work, so I got to spend a lot of time with him. I sure love my Daddy!

I guess it was an extra super special night on Saturday - something about sending out the old and ringing in the new. My grandparents and aunts and cousins came over to my house to play games and eat yummy food. I sure like to play with all of them, but they wouldn't share their food with me :( Before I went to sleep, Mommy and Daddy let me wear this special hat.

I guess the party continued after I fell asleep - look how much fun they had! But at least I got a lot of sleep....they didn't!

I suppose I should put together some resolutions for this new year. I'll list just a few:

  1. Learn how to crawl.

  2. Learn how to walk.

  3. Say mama, dada, and hamburger.

  4. Grow some teeth.

  5. Start saving my pennies to go towards college. Mommy is always telling me how smart I am, and college can be expensive, so might as well start saving now - I'm not getting any younger!

  6. Try new foods - normally resolutions include losing weight, but I think I'd like to gain some weight this next year. I'm a little tired of eating formula and rice cereal - even vegetables are getting to be a little boring. Give me some fruit!

  7. Take a much needed vacation. I've been stuck in this house for too long - it's time to go see the world!

  8. Get sealed to my Mommy and Daddy - this will be happening in just 3 weeks! I am so excited!

I hope everyone else has a happy and healthy new year, and may all your wildest dreams come true!
